Preparatory Programs for Foreign Students

Applicants from both neighboring and distant countries are welcome to enroll in a preparatory program for admission to Vernadsky University. International students will study the Russian language, scientific communication, Russian culture, and specialized subjects on their chosen field of study.



Preparatory Program Highlights:

Please note: The final exams of the preparatory program are not considered entrance exams for Vernadsky University.



Preparatory Program (1,5 years):

  • Application deadline: December 1, 2024.
  • Program duration: February 2025 – June 2026.
  • Program fee: 180,000 RUB.




Preparatory Program (1 year):

  • Application deadline: July 15 (August 15), 2025.
  • Program duration: September (October) 2025 – June (July) 2026.
  • Program fee: 140,000 RUB.




Additional Costs:

  • State duty for visa extension (1,920 RUB).
  • Medical insurance.
  • Fingerprinting (dactyloscopy).
  • Medical examination.
  • Additional study materials.


Required Documents:

After filling out the online application form, scanned copies of the documents and their notarized Russian translations must be sent to preparatory@rgunh.ru.

  • Application form
  • Passport copy (page with the photo) with a notarized Russian translation of that page. The passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the expected entry date into Russia, either February or September 2025.
  • Educational certificate with transcript. Notarized translations of both the educational certificate and transcript into Russian.
  • Recent digital photo in full_name.jpg format. The photo should be taken within the current calendar year.

All original documents, including three color passport-sized photos, must be presented upon arrival to complete enrollment in the preparatory program.



Health Requirements for Dormitory Accommodation:

Students must provide a health certificate from licensed medical facilities authorized by the Russian Ministry of Health, confirming fitness for communal living. The certificate must include compulsory fluorography, absence of infectious diseases (tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis B, measles) and vaccination records.
